Taking the long way around

I have to return my wedding shoes.

I had a bath the other night and after I got out, I decided to wear my shoes around while I got ready for bed. (Yes, well, I have to break them in somehow!) And my feet were swollen from the hot bath and I could barely get the shoes on.

Boo.

And I know what you're thinking: there is no way my feet will be that swollen on the wedding day. But, in the summer, my feet tend to fluctuate between icy cold and red-hot lobsters, so I can't take the chance.

So I had my mom call Heel Boy, and the sales rep called all their other stores but there are no size 9s to be found.

But on the upside, we're going to T.O. in 2 weeks. Hopefully I can twist someone's arm (Allison, Wendy, Cindy...anyone!) into coming with me to Yorkdale so I can peek there for shoes (and visit H&M).

If not, it's back to Kingston I go where Heel Boy has some new arrivals. And yes, I've looked in Ottawa. I have been all over Bayshore, St. Laurent, Rideau even and have found nothing remotely comfortable enough to wear on the big day. And the bitchy sales reps at Nine West didn't even look up when I walked in the store - three of them behind the counter and not a single customer aside from me.

Well it's too nice outside today to be inside, on the computer, so I'm going to go sit outside and read my Marian Keyes book. Later.

I'd walk a thousand miles..

..in my new wedding shoes! Yay! These were a birthday gift from Mom & Dad, since they were $100. But they are Steve Madden and surprisingly comfortable. I know what you're thinking: Steve Madden = four-inch stilletos. But no, they have a small heel and a little peep toe. So darling!

We met with our photographer yesterday and gave him the deposit; we'll do an engagement photo session with him in July.

Mom found me a crinoline in Kingston for less than $30, she's such a good shopper. And you all wonder where I get my bargain-hunting drive from ;)

Next we have to schedule a Meeting Of The Parents. LOL Sounds like a parent-teacher meeting for Pete's sake.

Oh you're a silly boy, but you're mine!

Sometimes we put clothes on Mikey to see what he'll do. This is a pair of Shaun's shorts.. Mikey just stood there wagging his tail.

If you drape a sock across his head, he'll shake until it flies off. If you drape the sock over his back, he'll trot into the office, turn around, then trot back into our room, waiting patiently for you to take it off.

And sometimes, I leave my hair clip on my bedside table. He thinks I'm not watching him when he gingerly takes the clip off the stand, tiptoes (no word of a lie) into the office, then lays on the floor and just mouths it for a few minutes. He doesn't chew our stuff anymore, I think he just likes to see what he can get away with.
