My Life Is A Stereo

Oh by gosh, by jingle.. It's time for carols and Kris Kringle!

"Over-eating, merry greetings from relatives you don't know!"

The title and first line are from an Old Navy Holiday Hits CD I bought a few years ago. It is still my favorite Christmas CD.

So who's finished their Christmas shopping? ME ME ME! Oh how thrilled I am to avoid the malls until January. I think I have a problem with crowds. I rarely shop on a Saturday, and if you see me at the mall during December, it's because I have exhausted every other viable option available to me. It seriously stresses me out. At any rate, we finished on Tuesday night. I do have to make a quick run to the LCBO to grab a couple of bottles of wine (gifts for neighbours, etc.) but I think I'll be okay there if I go over my lunch hour one day.

Speaking of neighbours, we have some doozies over here. The people on the one side of us are tenants and are 110% certifiably nuts. They have domestic arguments at about 3am, leave their dogs outside in the freezing cold for lengthy periods, and just have no common sense whatsoever. We might as well be living next door to Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. AIR HEADS. At least their place is for sale, I hope whoever buys the place kicks them out and does some serious renos. You know you should red-flag a house for sale when they post zero pictures on the MLS website, and they describe it as, "Nice layout but needs some TLC".

Then, the people three doors down from us had a visit from the cops last night. Oh ya, real winners over here in Barren Hamlet (come see our lack of trees!) I admit it - I was being overly nosey when I took the dog across the street to pee so I could try to get a better look at what the cops were doing. No such luck, I just looked like a stalker.

Thankfully our list of home renovations is growing smaller by the month, so we can hopefully sell within the next year or so (this is contingent upon us getting married first). We are going to take a weekend in January and really finish the basement by putting all the stereo equipment back together, unburying the treadmill, and putting the finishing touches on the new under-the-stairs-storage door. Then I really think the upstairs bathroom needs our desperate attention, and we do have a huge stack of free 13 x 13 ceramic tile in the basement, which is itching to be installed. Aside from the floor, we need a new sink, countertop, cupboard door handles, shower tile (or MDF inlay, haven't decided yet), bathtub faucet, plus the cupboard doors need to be painted and there is an old, non-working light fixture to remove. Oh, it'll be fun.

By the way, the Danny McGee commercial is now on the RADIO. Yes, you can sing along in your car too!
