Feeling ill...

That's right. Just when I thought I could get away from the flu bugs circulating around my office, I've succomed to a severe case of wedding fever. That's right - we're engaged!!!

Shaun and I went out to dinner on December 22nd and he proposed. I cried and said yes, it was very sweet and romantic. Within a week I had purchased my wedding planner/organizer and 3 bridal magazines. I've since acquired 3 more magazines, and Laura was kind enough to loan me hers from when she got married.

So the plans are going well. We're looking at August or September 2007 and will hopefully be picking a venue tomorrow. It's down to two: the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront, or the Loyalist Golf Club in Bath (about 10 minutes outside of Kingston). My mom is coming up on the 24th so we can go look at wedding dresses, and I'm going to use her veil (my something old and borrowed).

At the same time we book the venue, I have to book with the chair-cover-rental people. Next step after that is the church, which means Shaun and I will actually have to attend a service of some kind during the month of January or February. We're both baptised Anglicans but usually only go to church on Christmas or Easter. Not early on a Sunday morning (aka my sleep-in time). Should be fun!

I downloaded an MS Excel wedding budget spreadsheet and worked on that today. Weddings are not cheap, especially with our large families. Oh well, we are looking forward to having a fun party. And I am really in my zone here, I LOVE planning and organizing.

Oh, this will be a fun 8 months!!
